Oh I am so one with nature today!!!

First I am loving the weather here today. It was 35 when I got up this mornig but got up to like 74. It was just beautiful. Ok....joke time. Did you hear about the ladybug that told the other ladybug and all 5 million of her friends that there was this great house to come and vacation in for the winter months...................
oh you didnt well let me tell you. We have a major ladybug investation outside our house and some of them are getting in. I have read online there they are very helpful insects because they eat aphids which are little bugs that can be problems for gardeners. Well I really dont have an aphid problem but I do have a lot of ladybugs. They started yesterday afternoon. Just swarms of them surrounding the house. When Chad got home from work he found a couple inside and starting getting them with the shop vac. It was hilarious hearing some comments he was saying when vaccuming a couple of them off the ceiling. "You are not going to win" and "What do you want from us". So today I didnt see any of them this morning but as soon as the sun started to heat things up here they came. Pure ladybug craziness!!! Oh and on top of that I got stung by a yellow jacket on my pinky. I have never gotten stung by one before-it stings pretty good. Maybe they are friends with the ladybugs.....

sounds like a conspiracy to me. just keep repeating chad's words... "you are not going to win. you are not going to win."

I think the other 5 million flew 45minutes west of you! They appeared Sunday & haven't left yet. Only 1 spotted in my house though. Be careful about what you do with them because in North Carolina it's against the law to "dispose" of them! You may want to check out the rules here in this state- although a shop vac doesn't sound so bad :)

Maybe you can work them into your school day - how many ladybugs can we shop-vac up in 5 minutes? :) I'm going to head to Dollar Tree this week and get some workbooks - thanks for the tip!

Those ladybugs are not the same kind that eat aphids. They do like to bite humans. Here in Indiana they leave when it gets cold.We have beem pestered by them for 5 or 6 years. I have tried just about everything to get rid of them but nothing seems to work.Just have to live with it.You know me Papa's the name.
